Phantom25- Reminder

We are now just a few days away from this exciting event, and we should all now be well into our technical preparations to ensure we are ready for the Tests and the relay itself. Just take a few moments to look at a short aide-memoire applicable to the satellite you will be taking the feed from.

Intelsat IS-905 (free of any subtitles)

It is expected that you will be subscribed to the Arqiva Cinema Distribution Network if you are taking from this satellite.

Have you booked the service from the Chalfont Customer Care Centre by emailing them on chalfont.customercarecentre@arqiva.com ?

Do you have their Helpline numbers to call if you have any queries?

UK: 0870 333 7999

International:+44 1494 848 852

Please ensure that Arqiva have told you the times the tests are being made available, and that you participate, if only to the monitoring equipment in the projection room (if the auditorium is not available for any reason)

Eutelsat Atlantic Bird 3 (German subtitles only)

It is expected that you will be subscribed to the  if you are taking from this satellite.

Have you booked the  service through by Bewegte Bilder in the usual way?

Do you have their Helpline numbers to call if you have any queries?

Open Sky Network Operations Centre: +39 0444 180 14 70 or

E-mail: cinema@open-sky.it

Please ensure that you have been told you the times the tests are being made available, and that you participate, if only to the monitoring equipment in the projection room (if the auditorium is not available for any reason)

IntelSat IS10-02 takers (2 feeds: one clean of any subtitles and one with German Subtitles)

All takers from IS10-02 will be using their own equipment, and tuning this locally.

Please make sure that all your reception equipment is tested thoroughly before the Phantom tests on Saturday. This will include:

  1. dish is pointed correctly,
  2. leads and cables all connected,
  3. receiver/tuner operation is fully understood by the staff,  and they are familiar with its operation through prior training or regular use,
  4. that any handbooks or locally-issued tuning guides are to hand for the Tests and broadcast
  5. your operational staff can successfully tune to the permanent channels on IS10-02, and get them displayed onto the screen with sound and picture in-sync.

It is imperative that you are 100% certain that your local kit is working with the permanently-broadcast channels (e.g. “GO”, Gospel Channel”) in good time for you to be able to seek expert local assistance if anything needs attention. Performing the above on Saturday would not be acceptable as I am sure you understand.

You also need to know the local telephone support number, as provided within your circuit/cinema-chain or other organising party, to call if you need to seek advice for tuning or other local issues. This must be to hand for all Test and during the TX.

All takers

If there are any points of interest, urgent information or other issues that are common to the programme as a whole, these will be reported as quickly as possible here on this blog.I suggest this might be a 1st place to go if you suspect a problem: it might save a lot of worthless efforts if there is fault/issue common to all. You can leave comments here too, and we will get back to you just as soon as we can.

After each Test, please report back to your local coordinator that you received all ok.

General queries can be emailed (except during test/broadcast times) to chris@creativebroadcastsolutions.co.uk
